January is over!

It is hard to believe that January is over and we are beginning a new month already for 2009. January was an interesting month. The United States had its first non white president. That was a first on all sides. Ryan thought it was interesting that they pegged Obama as only an African American. Gee, wasn't his mom involved in the birth also. He is a 50-50. His father was black his mother white. He is the first African Caucasion American President. Hopefully, we won't regret all the changes he is going to make. Such as the government taking over the banks and regulating them. For the government to jump in and decide everything in the banking business makes us more socialized all the time. It is alittle disarming to have more freedoms taken away. But we the people wanted a change. And a change we will get. Sometimes change is good!

We are also facing a depression. Unemplyement is at all time high. Banks are closing, businesses going under, etc. and the end is not in sight. It is a terrible way to start 2009. It makes me very nervous.

Today in church, one of the speakers talked about how we are in the circle of pride spoken of in the Book of Mormon. We were at the peak of Prosperity the past few years and the next step is destruction. You see this everywhere in our economy. The American dream is really struggling. We will go through this process until we learn the humility required and look to Christ. We are as bad the people in the B of M, we don't learn. And so now we will begin the same circle as they and go through that process of growth. It is a painful process.
